About AUSIS
Andhra University campus spans across a land area of 422 acres (170.7 hectares). It has a total of 4 entrance and exit gates, 25 blocks of in-campus accommodations, 5 administrative centers, 4 canteens, 6 campus service centers, 4 centers of excellence, 4 auditorium,8 sport facilities and so on. Every year, thousands of new students enroll in this university. These students either take a campus commuter or walk around to get familiar with campus compound. Visitors in AU might have a hard time searching for a particular location in the campus. Each and every day, uncountable numbers of students, staffs, and visitors move around campus compound to perform tasks by means of walking, cycling, driving, or riding campus commuters. The main intention of this web application is to provide an optimal navigation solution that are able to show a shortest-path calculation that benefits all AU residents, prospective students and staffs, as well as visitors in terms of location-search and route-planning. The Web based GIS application aims at building an architecture for a mobile campus navigator that finds the shortest path between any two points.
